Through this transformative experience, my academic trajectory has been greatly enriched, providing profound insights into pedagogical strategies, methodologies, and effective classroom management techniques.

Initially apprehensive about enrolling in this program due to financial instability and a lack of prior international travel, I grappled with concerns about cultural adjustment and language barriers. However, the unwavering support of my supervisor, university faculty, and staff, along with the guidance of my student buddies, fellow Filipinos, new acquaintances, and above all, my family, empowered me to seize this unparalleled opportunity. Consequently, I successfully completed my four practice teachings in Vietnam, overcoming the initial challenges that once seemed insurmountable.

Before commencing our teaching duties at the secondary school, we participated in an orientation session that offered insights into the anticipated experiences during our stay in Vietnam. Our initial meeting with the mathematics supervisor involved discussions regarding our teaching approach, curriculum, and related concerns. Equipped with a reference book translated into our language, we were able to comprehend the materials more effectively, aiding us in crafting our lesson plans. These plans were promptly submitted to the supervisor for feedback and suggestions. After revising them, I meticulously prepared my instructional materials and presentation, ensuring their alignment with the provided guidelines.

During the actual teaching process, I diligently adhered to the prepared lesson plan. Beginning with introductory activities, progressing to developmental exercises, and elucidating new concepts, I aimed to foster a deep understanding among the students. Utilizing numerous examples, I encouraged active participation and fostered an environment where students felt comfortable seeking clarification and posing inquiries. Our practicum progressed seamlessly, thanks to the comprehensive guidebook provided by Dong Thap University, which outlined the general itinerary, facilities, and local attractions. Furthermore, a well-structured timetable was furnished, incorporating our teaching practice sessions, orientation, and other essential components.

My Routine, throughout the week, my days are structured around a set schedule, with dedicated study hours and time reserved for crafting comprehensive lesson plans, spanning from Tuesday through to Friday. Language Barrier, coping with the language barrier poses as my foremost challenge, especially considering that Vietnamese is the medium of instruction for mathematical concepts. This concern lingers, leaving me apprehensive about the clarity of my lessons for the students. Student Engagement, during group activities or recreational sessions, the classroom occasionally fills with clamor and chatter. Conversely, there are moments when their silence is overwhelming, leaving me uncertain about their grasp of the subject matter. Commute Struggles, navigating the transportation system adds an additional layer of complexity to my daily routine, as the wait for the bus often proves to be an arduous task. Opting for a taxi, though a quicker alternative, comes with the burden of increased expenses. Personal Battles, wrestling with apprehensions of failure often occupies my thoughts, creating unnecessary mental hurdles. Nevertheless, I persevere and gradually learn to navigate through such internal conflicts.
